How EON Collective Helped a Leading Healthcare Company Refactor and Monetize Data

No matter how far back you go in the data space, you’ll see that tools and technology have continuously evolved while business fundamentals remain the same. Companies have always looked to their data for insights, differentiation, and innovation. So why isn’t every enterprise embracing modern data methodology, monetizing data, or enriching its knowledge by leveraging shared data from the myriad of sources available?

Between harmonizing decades of legacy technology and skills with newer, cloud-based platforms and best practices, technology alone will not solve the issues. AI is also not the answer either (yet). The instances where our customers have achieved audacious goals and wild success are when they have engaged today’s leading data advisory and consulting firms to help them cut through the clutter.

We want to share one customer journey from the perspective of our partner, EON Collective, a data solutions and modernization company that helps businesses transform their data architecture to support business objectives. With EON’s leadership, in a little over a year, this leading healthcare company transformed into a modern data enterprise able to make better decisions and recoup a portion of its investment through data monetization.

Starting point:

  • Pulling data from a multitude of legacy data sources
  • Data quality was a concern and therefore data was not trusted
  • Slowed down by manual analysis
  • Needing to store historical data and provide auditability
  • Lacking modern data methodology
  • Overwhelmed by data tool options in the market

Eon, with over 20 years of experience in healthcare, was brought in to assemble the whole process and technology mix from development to implementation. EON’s focused on ensuring that the client could manage everything independently once the project was complete—it is adamantly not a staffing company.  EON took a solution approach from strategy and analysis to software procurement and implementation and insisted on weekly coaching sessions to train everyone from the technical staff to the executive team.

Final Data Stack selected and implemented:

  • Snowflake to embrace the cloud, improve scalability and performance
  • VaultSpeed to support DataVault methodology that improves data quality and governance
  • Collibra to manage and govern data
  • DataOps.live as the glue that brings everything together

From EON’s perspective, the key to this project’s success was continuous mentoring and strong alignment between the participating technology vendors. The result is a true mind shift in the entire company and its ability to leverage data.
